Step I. Warming up:
Let the students do a survey on their learning plans and check which kind of friend he or she is.
Step II. Reading:
Scanning the passage and divide the story into three parts in chronological order.

Do some careful reading and use the sentences in the text to answer questions below.
Q1: What was the feeling when the writer lost his best friend for the first time?
Q2: Did the writer have a happy childhood?

Q4: Does the writer keep in touch with his friend now?
Let the students read paragraph 3-5 carefully and fill in the blank. Check answers in their own groups and cooperate with each other.
