2 The situation of students
Students in my class have a definite English learning motivation and active learning attitude. Besides, they can complete tasks by cooperating with each other so the teaching methods I choose are task-based language teaching method and situation teaching method.Moreover, the learning methods of the class are?pair work, group work, self-study and discussion.I will encourage and praise the students during the process. With these methods, it can help students stimulate their enthusiasm.
3 The key point and difficult point
The key point?is to master the vocabulary about music and understand the passage.The difficult point is how to improve students’ reading skill.
4 Teaching procedures
STEP 1 Leading-in
Brainstorm musicians and famous music stars, telling why you like them before class.Then show some pictures about some instruments,putting forward some questions like "Which instrument do you like best?"The reason why I arrange this step is to arouse students’ curiosity, so that they’ll pay more attention to learn this passage.
STEP 2 While-reading
I design the following tasks.
Task1, Fast-reading. At the same time, students try to grasp the general idea of this passage and fill in the forms on the learning plan.
Task2, Detailed reading. Students try to circle the topic sentence of each paragraph and finish the
Activity 4 on the book.
Task3. Read carefully and do Activity true or false.
（1） Liu Fang listened to music before she could speak.
（2） Liu Fang lives in Canada with her husband now.
（3） Liu Fang often cries when she plays a sad tune.
Then read part 1 of the passage and explain the references.
