老师展示Edmund Burke的名言：Reading without reflecting is like eating without digesting. （读书不加思考，如同吃东西不经消化。）

学生回答这两个问题通过问答形式老师了解学生的阅读兴趣并让学生知道阅读的重要性。名言警句的展示是让学生意识到阅读学要思索，在思索中提高。学生阅读老师给学生8分钟时间阅读短文并完成后面的练习阅读并做题让学生集中精力进行阅读核对答案老师公布答案，同时了解学生的正确率核对答案学生了解学生正确率以便了解他们是否读懂文章，也了解他们的问题所在学生思考自己的错误，之后和同学讨论老师给学生5分钟时间自己思考并在小组讨论学生先自己思考自己错误的地方，并把不理解的单词或句子作上记号，之后可以和同学讨论。让学生学会独立思考，在需要别人帮助的时候向别人求助，从而发挥团队合作精神。老师答疑并对重点词汇和句型的讲解老师先了解学生普遍感觉难以理解的地方，然后对其意义解答。
