《Reading and vocabulary》公开课教案优质课下载

C. Moral goals: (1) get the students to take an active part in the class activities; (2) by learning the stories of Michael Jordan and Wilt Chamberlain, students are able to learn the qualities from the two great players.

II. Analysis of the students

The topic of this module is basketball. The students may have learnt some information about the topic, but they don’t know the detailed information about Michael Jordan and Wilt Chamberlain. To arouse the students’ interest in learning the text, I’ll show them the logo of Air Jordan first, which is very popular among the young people all over the world. By setting various forms of activities, I can arouse the interest of the students and inspire them to be involved in my class, which can help them to improve their reading abilities. By cooperation and exploration, the students can enjoy the pleasure of studying. By presenting their work, they can improve their confidence.

III. Teaching important and difficult points:

(1) Teaching important points:

Get the students to master the pronunciation and usage of the key words in this part and know how to use them correctly; get the detailed information of the text.

(2) Teaching difficult points:

By setting various tasks, get the students to be involved in the class activities and encourage them to talk about their views about how to be a success in high school.

Task-based teaching; direct instruction; audiolingual method; cooperative teaching.

Multi-media; blackboard; textbook.

VI. Teaching procedures:

Step 1 Lead in

In this part I will show the students a logo of Air Jordan first.

Purpose of the design: 1. To arouse the students’ interest in my class. 2. To elicit the topic of the text—Michael Jordan.

Step 2 Pre-listening

In this part, I will ask students to read the profiles of Michael Jordan and Wilt Chamberlain on page 2, and find what the two stars have in common.

Purpose of the design: To make students get some basic information about the two players and get ready for the following reading.

Step 3 While-listening

1. Fast reading

In this part, students will read the text for the first time. This time they’ll read the text quickly and find some sentences in the text.

Purposes of the design: To make students have a rough idea of the whole text, and by analyze the information behind the sentences, students are able to figure out the outline of the text.

2. Detailed reading

In this part, students will read the text for the second time. This time they’ll read the text carefully and underline the sentences which talk about Jordan’s and Chamberlain’s achievements. Then they’ll finish a chart about their achievements with the sentences they’ve underlined.
