Have a stronger sense of civic responsibility.

Students will find difficulty distinguishing facts and opinions and expressing their opinions based on facts.
Teaching Procedures:
Step1- Pre-work
Watching the video about the process of the US election by scanning QR code and reading the passage given in the prep-sheet, students draw mind map about the process of the US election
and American parties.
Purposes:
Introduce the topic and know more about the US election system.
Step 2-Prep work feedback
Present the mind map about the process and American parties on the back board and give a introduction in plain Enlish
Step 3- Lead in
Watch the election advertisements of Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.
Step4-while reading
Ask the students to read the first 3 parts of the passage and try to find out experiences and policies of Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump and oral presentation.(individual and group work)
Read the passage again to form their specific and resonable opinions about the two candidates according to the facts they get from the passage.. (individual and group work)
Step5-Culture experience and debate
Choose two students to act as Hillary and Clinton to get more supporters by forming their own election campaign teams and giving speeches in the whole week before class.
Debate betweent Hillary and Trump.
Step6-Vote
Make students vote for next president of the U.S. after having a better knowledge of the two candidates
