Procedures
I. Lead-in
Review: Definition of Noun Clause
Review the definition of Noun clause that has been learnt in previous classes. Summarize the definition of Subject clause.
II. Learning about grammar
Task 1: Pick out the Subject-clauses in the passage.
Ask the students to pick out all of the subject clauses from the passage. The aim is to deepen their understanding of the definition.
Task 2: Summarize the rules of using a Subject-clause.
Students are required to observer the sentences carefully and try to summarize the rules of using a subject-clause according to the sentences picked out from the exercise above. They can try to analyze the sentence structures or turn to their reference books for help. It’s a group-work, and finally, students are asked to represent their understanding in front of the class. The important points are as follows.
