3 Attitude, Social and moral Awareness

Cultivate students’ love their high school and gratitude to their teachers and classmates.

Students’ analysis

Most of students love their high school but they don’t know how to write their feelings in English. Students will be trained to write their feelings from three aspects and have a command of expressing their feelings through various sentence structures and words. Students who don’t like school will be moved by reviewing their life in the school and have strong motivation to express their feelings about senior high.

Teaching Important Points

1 Review some words and expressions and sentence structure.

2 Through listening and reviewing students own life in senior high school, they will be expected to write their own highlights of senior high

Teaching Procedures:

1 pre-writing

Step1: lead in

Play a short video recored by my former student who is studying in Canada now and her classmate, a native canadin. Students will be asked to catch the information listed on PPT, which aims to arouse students’ interest in the class and make students summarize the words and expressions and the three aspects written in the composition.

Step 2:reviewing and speaking stuents’ life

Review stuents own life and lead them to express their own feelings about senior high life, which aims to involve students in the real situation to write a composition and brainstorm their vocabularies and expressions.

Step3: Dealing with words and expressions

Help students review words and expressions in the text, which will make students write their composition easily

2 While-writing

Students will be devided into 6 groups and each student will try their best to use as many words and expressions as possible to write one paragraph including three aspects. After ten minutes writing, they will be asked to exchange their paper to correct mistakes.

3 post-writing

One member of each group present his paper and other groups evaluate their paper from different evaluation aspects.

4 Moral education

The teacher make a summary of this class and hope every student will love their home school and cherish their life in the school and welcome them come back at any time.
