Teaching Aims:

Knowledge objects: Get the students to lean how to write about highlights of senior high school years.

Ability objects: Train the students to master writing skills and adpate the daily writing to a writing in a test.

Emotional objects: Arouse the Ss’ teamwork in learning English, and motivate them to cherish their relationgships and maintin the friendship.

The students analysis:

The students are of grade three from senior high, facing the biggest exam, with tens of days until the College Entrance Examination, but they still feel it challenging to win 20+ points in writing task, and some even don’t know how to organize language to express their feelings.

The teaching materials:

This is the fifth period of Module2 Book7-- a writing lesson, an output process of learning. The topic-- Highlights of My Senior High School Year is very close the the students’ daily life. So there is no need to worry that they have nothing to write about.

Teaching Important Points and Difficult Points

1. To make the students master the way to write about experience and apply new words and expressions leant from the reading passage.

2. To let the students adapt the paragraph writing (the highlights of school years) to a complete writing article in a test.

Teaching Methods

According to the New Standard English, the students should be centered on in the whole process of English teaching and learning. Hence, the means of Task-Based-Language Learning has been taken, which contributes to the students’ taking a more active part in English learning and thus finish the tasks wonderfully in English.

Various methods of teaching and learning are applied effectively, including individual work, pair work and group work.. All these lead to a lively atmosphere and a good effect of class with perfect combination of cooperative, individual and explosive work.

The lesson is designed according to the Task-Based-Language Learning mode exactly — Pre-task, Task-cycle, and Post-task; at each stage of a task, there is an exact and clear purpose referring to them respectively and it is shown what measures and strategies are taken to achieve those purposes.

The procedure is designed with scientific logical learning process in mind: listening and reading as input first, speaking, paragraph-wrting and speech-writing followed as output.
