过去分词作原因状语相当于原因状语从句

2) 表示方式和伴随情况时可以转换为一个并列的谓语成分
Every day we read and write (and we are ) surrounded with trees and grass.
3) 过去分词作让步状语相当于让步状语从句
(Although he had been) injured in the leg , Yao Ming continued to practice for the next season.
Sum-up:
过去分词作状语,修饰谓语,动作主要说明发生的背景或情景,表示时间、条件、原因、让步、伴随情况等。一般来说,这一结构的逻辑主语是主句的主语。
