(二) 从词汇层面对句子进行理解
Para. 2
1. Early this morning I walked up to a beautiful park on the slopes of the mountain, and sat and watched as the town slowly woke up to the day. 此句中的walked、sat、watched三个动词由and 连接,明显地表现出动作的先后顺序和动作的承接。
2. Seen from the above, the old town is a maze of canals, little bridges and tiny cobbled streets that tourists get lost in. 此句中用little、tiny两个词来表示小。
3. Three rivers run through the city and wherever you go, you hear the sound of rushing water. 此句中的rushing 让人听到的流水的声音。

1. It took place in an old wooden hall, and was played by Naxi men, some of whom looked as if they were well over 100 years old. 此句中的程度副词well 让人感受到这些老人的年龄之大。
2. Sometimes the instruments sounded like women crying, or trees bending under snow. 此句中的crying 和bending 让人似乎真切地听到了这个声音。

这两句用过去分词作状语,强调了这个古城从上往下看的风景,强调了音乐的传承。
