3.Analysis of the teaching aims.
(As we know ,reading is the input during the process of the language learning. The input has a great effect on output , such as accomplishing and writing . )According to the new standard curriculum and the syllabus , after studying the teaching material and analyzing the rule of children’s growing of mind, I think the teaching aims are as follows:
1) Knowledge objects:
To learn about Zhoukoudian Beijing Man Heritage Site.
2) Ability object:
To train students’ ability of reading
3)Emotion object:
To arouse students’ awareness of environmental protection
4. Analysis of the key point and difficult point.
1) key point: Students can finish the tasks in the given time and improve their ability of reading; meanwhile ,students can be familiar with some new words.
2) difficult point: By accomplishing the tasks, students can improve their ability of getting and processing information( I think the most important in teaching process is how to enable the students to use what they learnt to get and process useful information.)
Part 2 Teaching Methods:
In order to stress the important point and break through the difficult point , according to the analysis of the teaching material and the students’ learning background ,I will adopt the following method : Task-based Teaching Method
Part 3 Teaching Procedure
It’s known to all that the students are real masters. In this lesson they are English learners and masters. So the teacher should act as a guider, an organizer and a director.
Step 1 Lead-in. ( 5 minutes)
I think the most useful method to lead the students to learn is interest stimulating. So at first I show students a few pictures and then ask students to answer some questions :
1. Where is Zhoukoudian?
2. What is it famous for?
3. How much do you know about Beijing Man?
(Where did they live ? /life span/Did they use fire ?)
Therefore, I elicit the topic The World’s Cultural Heritage.
Step 2 Read and finish tasks (13 minutes)
In this part, students need to read fast and get information related to the questions.(This part mainly trains students’ ability of scanning.)
Read Part 1 of the passage quickly and find: (8 minutes)
