Emotional aim:Let the students arouse the love of Chinese traditional culture.
Procedures:
Step = 1 ﹨ ROMAN I . A writing quiz of the names of Chinese traditional festivals .
Process: Present pictures and names of Chinese traditional festivals on the screen. Four stuents take part in the competition as the representatives of their groups.Let one student act as a commentator who face the screen and explain the festivals in English .Whereas the competitors stand with their backs to the screen,according to the explaination of the commentator, guess and write the names of the festivals on a piece of paper.The student who writes quickest and most correctly will be the winner.The purpose of the activity is to check the ability of writing festivals.
Step = 2 ﹨ ROMAN II . A dictation competition of the activitities on the Chinese traditional festivals.
Process: First of all ,present the phrases about the activities related to the festivals and let the students learn them.In order to check whether they have remember them,let a representative of each group stand with their back to the screen. when the activities and phrases are presented on the screen , all the other stuents read them loudly and the competitors write what they hear down. The result will be checked and announced .The purpose of the activity is to let the stuents accumulate necessary phrases about traditional festivals .
Step = 3 ﹨ ROMAN III . Presentation
The most important traditional festivals for Chinese is the Spring Festival.Let the students enjoy a video of a programme of a Spring Festival Gala.
Step = 4 ﹨ ROMAN IV .Exhibition of execllent compositions.
Process: Exhibite some stuents’ masterpieces on the screen and let the writers read the composition. After enjoying the masterpieces ,one of the students will act as a critic to tick the advantages included in the materpieces.The purpose of the activity is to let them learn from each other and encourage each other.
Step = 4 ﹨ ROMAN IV . Presentation of the composition topic of the college entrance examination in 2013.
The composition topic is about the Mid-autumn Festival. Let the students read the reference model .The purpose of the activity is let the students get to know more about the college entrance examination.
Step = 5 ﹨ ROMAN V . Conclude the enlightenments of this class: Love our family, as well as the Chinese culture and our country.
Step = 6 ﹨ ROMAN VI . Awarding ceremony
Award the students who have excellent behaviours ,encourge them to remain the advantages and let them set good examples to the other students.
