学情分析

Our school is not a key school. It is just a third-class high school in a town. So, my students have some difficulty in learning English. These days, I found they can’t remember vocabulary well, especially adv. and adj. in Moudle5 and Moudle6 of this book. Also they took part in a test several days ago and they are not good at the cloze test. So I put the words into a cloze test and fill the title of gratitude -the hot topic . I designed this class to improve the skills of cloze test and strengthen the vocabulary in use. At last, guide the students to form the habit of collecting the information of composition from the materials they meet with.

教学过程

活动1【导入】lead-in.

From the title “the power of Gratitude”, thank the students for coming to my class and tell them they’ll graduate, so I value and feel thankful for each day we spent together. Then, ask the students whether they want to say “thank-you” to sb at this moment? Why? In this way, I lead to the topic.

活动2【活动】discussion

Discuss the answers , solve the easy problems among the groups. Then each group choose one person to report the answers.

活动3【活动】question质疑

While One group is reporting the answers, the other groups can question them. At last, all of the answers are agreed.

活动4【活动】exchange and communicate skills 交流解题技巧

Talk about the skills they used in this cloze test. First students, then the teacher shows just to exchange , to compare and communicate, focusing on developing the students’ thinking. This part is a little difficult.

活动5【提升点拨】高频选项词

Remind the students of collecting the words that always appear in cloze test . This can improve the students a lot , helping them to remember the vocabulary and know how to use them.

Practice the skills today and the words that always appear in cloze test.

Let the students find out the useful sentences for composition on the same topic.
