Students analysis:
Students always find it difficult to get the correct answer in the gap-filling exercise. Actually, they nearly lose the confidence in answering the questions. However, this kind of exercise has the basic rules to follow.
Teaching procedures:
Step 1 Lead-in
Use a puzzle to lead students to get to the topic: key words and logic in solving the problem of the exercise.
Step 2 Presentation
Ask students to think out the steps to finish one exercise, and check the answers in their homework. They need to explain the reason why they made the choice.
Step 3 Practice
More exercise in the NCEE to analyze the different types of the methods to help enhance their understanding. Focus on the two aspects:
Key words: 相同词，同/反义词，代词，同畴词
Conjections: 例证关系，顺序关系，转折关系，因果关系
Step 4 Production
Give them 8 mins to finish the exercise (2014 Ⅱ).Work in pais to check the answers together. Then, let one student to explain how he/she apply the method and which method they use.
Step 5 Conclusion
Draw a conclusion of the strategies in answering the questions in gap-filling.
Step 6 Homework
Digest what they’ve learnt in the lesson
