My students are in Grade Two. They speak fluent English. They have a large vocabulary. However, as the final examination is approaching, they attach more attention to reading materials in exercises instead of those in their textbooks.

Teaching Procedure:
Step1 Leading-in
Play a short video related to the characteristics of Chinese food. And show some pictures about western food.
Purpose: to arouse students’ interest and introduce the topic.
Step2 Reading
Pre-reading
1. Ask students the following questions:
1). According to the video, what are the key words of Chinese food?
Keys: flavor, taste and color
2). As a consequence, what adjectives can be used to describe Chinese food?
Keys: tasty, colorful, delicious, fabulous, appetizing, etc.
