Table manners

Group discussion: Do you know Chinese table manners? Mainly emphasis on the correct usage of chopsticks and the the meaning of chopsticks ( a short video )

Tips: before meal, during meal, after meal

Pre-listening Activity2: gap filling

Activity1&3 ( book P34 ): multiple- choices

Activity4 ( book P34 ): true or false then correction

Post-listening: Conclusion (similarities and differences between China and Britain on table manners)

Role play

3.1 Imagine that Tom (from UK) is invited to a Chinese dinner, and you are to be his guide, what table manners should he pay attention to ?

3.2Requirements:

3.2.1 A brief introduction on Chinese cuisines including flavor, color, shape, meaning, customs and so on.

3.2.2 Provide at least one table manner suggestion.

3.2.3 Use the cuisines’ pictures, chopsticks, bowls if necessary.

3.2.4 Welcome any reasonable characters’ supplements

3.3 Evaluations: contents/ expressions/ languages
