Teaching procedures:
Step1：Warming up
Enjoy one short piece of FAIRY TALE to light up the students, to finish the blanks while listening in order to have a good mood to do the following tasks.
Step2:Challenges:
Ask ss to Challenge themselves by listening the first part of an English test.
Check the answer.
Step3:Intensive listening
Give ss some guide to improve their listening ability, such as listening to BBC and VOA.
invite 4 groups(the whole class) to play a game together in order to finish the 4 tasks.
Give them the game rules and explain some words and expressions after listening if it is necessary.
Game over and give them evaluation.
Step4:Ability promotion:
Ask ss to listen to a dialogue between a patient and a doctor, take notes while listening
Discuss with partner or group members to complete the dialogue
Act it out in pairs.
Ask ss to retell the main idea of the speech using some key sentences by watching and listening the short movie.
Step5: Conclusion:
Conclude the method of improving listening ability
Step6: homework:
Ask ss to write short passage about how to improve listening referring to Chinese hints given by the teacher.
