新人教版必修3 Unit 4《the science of the stars》，带领学生们了解宇宙起源，了解天文学的相关知识，作为必修的内容，相对难度较小，课标要求较低，关注学生基础的夯实及语言背景的铺垫。而外研版把这节课作为选修教材，而且辅助以《Secrets of the Gas Giant》;《May the Force be with You》以及《The War of the Worlds》等，内容丰富生动，侧重学生思维能力的培养，对学生进行文化意识的培养。

3.本课时分析

我今天进行的这篇阅读的文章属于课时1.Reading and vocabulary。其中又分为part 1和part 2两部分。其中part1文本材料主要介绍了人类首次登月，人类首次航天飞机飞行和“挑战者”号爆炸等太空探索史上具有划时代意义的重大科学事件，旨在增进学生对人类不断探索太空的历史的了解，增强开发太空，谋求人类和平与发展的意识。文章的结构比较清晰，段落大意比较好把握。但是篇幅比较长，而且生词，生短语比较多，而且不仅句子长，句式也比较复杂，学生在细节理解上难度会比较大，这对学生的思维能力和知识储备都是不小的挑战。

Ask the students to check their home work and pay attention to the mistakes. Let one student to make a presentation about the Saturn.
