教学目标

了解英文诗歌韵律特点,并能运用这些特点进行诵读与欣赏;

掌握诗歌中的修辞方式,学会分析诗歌意象与诗人情感;

获取调节消极情绪的方式,培养积极面对生活的态度。

教学重点

理解四音步抑扬格;识别常用修辞方式

教学过程

To understand rhyme of English poems and use it in reading and appreciation;

To grasp rhetorical devices in English poems and analyze image and affect;

To gain ways of adjusting negative mood and cultivate positive attitude towards life.

Leading-in:

Show a picture of the teacher (T) in Quancheng Park besides daffodils and ask the students (ss) to identify the flowers.

Ss complete the profile of the poet according to the introduction paper to learn the background of the poem.

Listening:

Ss listen to the poem and draw pictures in their imagination (background music: Ballade No.1 by Chopin).

Rhyme analysis:

Present “foot” in English poems, take the first stanza as an example and divide the first line into 8 syllables and 4 feet;

Clap hands to mark the strong sound and distinguish with the weak sound;

Ss mark the feet with slashes for the rest of the poem and learn the concept of iambic tetrameter.

Ss read the last word in each line and find out the rhyme pattern: ababcc.

Point out the special sound in the fifth line. Let ss find out the same sound at the beginning of the two words: “beside” and “beneath” and learn about alliteration.

Ss read the first stanza together.
