Listening: Dictionaries are useful tools in our daily life. The history of the first English dictionary can date back to the 18th century. Samuel Johnson, the famous British writer, published the English Language Dictionary in 1755.
With the development of technology, various types of dictionaries have been published so far. A growing number of people will turn to online dictionaries for help because of their convenience.
Now you have known something about the history of English dictionaries. Today we will talk about a different type of dictionary——Roget’s Thesaurus. Please turn to page 83.
