学情分析：
Students are very active and willing to cooperate with the teacher. Besides, they like to participate in the group work and do a good job. They have the ability to analyze and understand the complex passage under the guidance of the teacher. But sometimes they lack some learning strategies. So they need the teacher’s help to learn more about language skills.
重难点：
Teaching Important Points:
1. Let students grasp words and expressions of describing scenic spots and one’s feelings.
2. Let students practice the skills of skipping and scanning.
Teaching Difficult Points:
1.Let students grasp the word formation skills, especially prefix.
2.Let students learn different ways to enlarge and grasp vocabulary.
教学过程：
【活动】Presentation
One of the students gives the whole class a brief introduction of Australia’s three big cities.
The teacher shows the map of Australia and tells students the three cities are all densely populated and prosperous, which are mainly situated along the southeast coast.
【导入】Lead-in
The teacher points out some places of interest in the central and western parts of Australia and introduces today’s topic--- Ayers Rock
Show several pictures of Ayers Rock and let the students become familiar with it.
Enjoy a video about Ayers Rock and ask some questions.
【活动】Skipping
Let the students listen to the first paragraph of the passage and do exercises 1&2 and check the answers with the whole class.
Read the second paragraph silently by the students themselves and do exercises 3-5, then check the answers.
Ask one of the students to read for the whole class and do exercises 6-8, then check the answers together.
In the process of reading and doing exercises, the teacher explains the key words and key reading comprehension questions to help students have a better understanding of the passage. Meanwhile, let the students learn the structure of the travel notes.
