2.学情简析
本班是学校实验班,相比较而言,大部分学生英语基础比较扎实,听说读写能力较强,学习习惯也较好,因此,在设计各项教学活动时设计的比普通班稍难些。

提高学生阅读理解能力

引导学生归纳短文,了解英国学校生活及课外活动
引导学生比较中英两国学校的异同并思考产生的原因,以便他们更好理解中英文化差异,激起他们对即将开始的高中生活充满了向往。
二.教学设计
1.设计思想
本节课是在多媒体教学环境下实施的大容量快节奏的课堂教学。教师运用略读寻读跳读等阅读方法,对所选文章逐层推进地进行阅读,从而达到对文章深层次的理解。根据文章的描述,让学生了解英国学校生活及课外活动,同时让学生思考中英两国学校生活的异同及产生的原因,培养他们国际视野,逐渐实现从语言的输入和内化到语言成果的输出,提高学生应用语言的能力。
2.教学过程
Step 1: Leading-in
Do any of you happen to have had the chance to go on a tour in the UK or have taken part in some exchanging programmes? Please bring some photos to school to pass them around and make brief descriptions of the photos. You can use the information to discuss the difference and try to think of the reasons for these differences.

Step 2: Reading strategy
T: This is the first time to read a passage, so first let’s share some reading strategies: skimming and scanning
We skim a text when we want to get a general idea of what it is about. We look at the titles and headlines, the first and last sentences of paragraphs and the first and last paragraphs as well as pictures and charts to guess what the text is about.
When we want to find certain information in a text quickly, we scan the text for key words and phrases, dates, numbers, etc. We do not need to read the whole text word by word.
Step 3: Fast reading for general ideas
Go through the passage as quickly as possible and try to find answers to the three questions in Part A. You need only focus on and identify the most important information.
