Teaching Procedures:
Step one Lead-in
Pictures of our school are presented and students are guided to talk about them.
活动目的：通过呈现高一新生进校初的各种校园生活的图片，激发学生的兴趣，激活学生思维，让学生有话可说，有话想说，为下面的活动做有效铺垫。
Step two Prediction
Students are encouraged to predict the aspects covered in the passage according to the title.

Step three Reading strategy
Students are asked to go through reading strategy and know when and how to use skimming and scanning.
活动目的：让学生了解何时运用、如何运用策略，从而能有效地运用阅读策略。
Step four Skimming
Students are advised to skim the passage to get the different aspects of school life mentioned in the passage.
活动目的：学生现学现卖，运用略读策略快速获取每段的主旨大意，然后加以概括归纳，培养学生快速掌握文章大意和脉络的能力。
Step five Scanning
Students are advised to scan the specific part of the passage to understand the detailed information better.
