Greet the whole class.
Step = 2 ﹨ ROMAN II . Lead-in
Have the students enjoy the music video ”Lemon Tree”.
T: What’s the name of the song?
Ss: It is Lemon Tree.
T: Do you like the song whose name is Lemon Tree?
I like the song whose name is Lemon Tree very much.
Then the teacher asks the students to fill in the blank to lead in the topic.
Step = 3 ﹨ ROMAN III , Definition & Structure
Definition:The clause used as the attribute in a sentence is called Attributive Clause, which is used to modify a noun or a pronoun.
Structure:
relative pronoun (as subject , object or predicative)
antecedent + (that / which / who/whom/as)
(as attribute) (whose)
relative adverb (as adverbial) (when / where / why)
(The purpose is to give the students a clear idea of attributive clauses.)
Step = 4 ﹨ ROMAN IV . Competition
Divide the whole class into two groups to have a competition. The competition includes six parts.
Part = 1 ﹨ roman i . Fill in the blanks.
(The purpose is to help the students review the basic usage of relative pronouns and adverbs.)
Part = 2 ﹨ roman ii . Choose the best answer.
Part = 3 ﹨ roman iii . Translate the following English proverbs into Chinese and then pick out the attributive clauses.
