Step 1. Revision and lead-in

Let’s enjoy a song: That's why you go away

Review the adjective, phrases or clauses used to modify the nouns.

[设计说明]:从学生熟悉的歌词中定语从句入手,共同分析歌词导入定语从句,引出概念:充当定语的从句就是定语从句

Step 2. Introduction to attributive clauses

1. Introduce main clause and the attributive clause.

2. Introduce the terms of ‘attributive clause’ and ‘antecedent’.

attributive clause(定语从句:修饰主句中名词或代词的从句叫做定语从句。)

antecedent (先行词:被定语从句所修饰的名词或代词叫做先行词。)

eg. (1). The film (先行词)Tangshan Big Earthquake which/that (关系代词,作主语) moved many people was directed by FengXiaogang.

(2). The doctor doesn’t know how to deal with the supergerm (先行词)which/that (关系代词,作主语) is a threat to people.

(3). Gery wolf(先行词) whose (关系代词,作定语) plan is ruined by

Pleasant Goat isvery angry.

3. Introduce relative pronouns : which, who, whom , whose, that and as.

Introduce relative adverbs: where, why and when.

Introduce the functions of the relative words.

指代先行词;

② 位于从句句首,连接定语从句与主句;
