Step 1 Lead-in
T: Today we together are going to learn a play, Home Alone, and explore the new form of article.
First please look at the first picture,are you familiar with these people? Yes, it's about a famous TV play: Home with Kids.It's a happy family.But in some Chinese families, parents always scold or criticize their children, while they themselves are entertaining.Next picture, what are son and father are doing?
Ss:They are quarreling.
T: Today, we are going to learn a play about a big fight in an American family.Before we learn about it, let's get to know something about the strategy of reading a play.What's the elements of a play?
Ss:acts, scenes, dialogues and instructions.
T:What are the characteristics of a play?
Ss:1. In the form of a dialogue. 2. Read the dialogue out aloud. 3. Remember to pay attention to the instructions.
Step 2 Fast reading
T:Before reading, let's listen to a sound.(3 mins)
T:Are you attracted by the sound? In fact, it's from the TV sery of the play. Next, please read the text fast and then tell me the main characters of the play and two other simple questions of part A.
