Step 1 Revision and Leading-in
Give me a word or a phrase from yesterday.
Do it as a group work. They can say Pass if they cant remember any but they can win a point for their group if they tell a word or phrase from yesterday correctly.
Then show the class the objectives of this period:
Step 2 Listening
Pre-listening Act out Home Alone
Ask one group of students to act out the first scene of Home Alone. Talk about the problems between Daniel and his parents. Ask the students what they should do when they have problems in their life. Get individuals to answer the questions. Then tell the students some people might call the radio stations for advice.
While-listening Radio talk show
Ask the students to listen to a radio talk show and write the names of the callers in the blanks in Part A on Page 33 and also write down the callers' problems.
Check the answers as a class. Ask the individuals about the callers’ problems.
Ask the students to listen to the radio talk show again, and complete the notes in Part B on Page 33.
Post-listening
Ask the students to sum up how to ask for and give advice from the radio talk show.
Write the followings on the Bb:
