译林2003课标版《Project(1): Writing a report on growing pains》精品教案优质课下载
By the end of this period, the students are able to train the ability to express themselves in English by sharing their understanding and ideas about growing pains with us in English.
By the end of this period, the students are able to train their logical thinking by preparing the outline for their reports on growing pains.
Materials: Advance with English 1, Longman Academic Writing 1, whiteboard, whiteboard pen, and P.P.T.
Develop Instruction:
Step One Lead in
Teacher,” Good morning, boys and girls, do you have any unpleasant experience when you are growing up?”
Then students are encouraged to share their own growing pains with us.
Step Two Article Reading
In the last period, I taught all the key words in the article to students, so it must be easy for them to understand the article now. I will give students several minutes to read the article quickly and find the answers to the following question. They can discuss with their group members.
“How many kinds of growing pains can you find in the article and what are they?”
Step Three Reading Comprehension
After reading, I will invite students to the front to write down the answers on the whiteboard and explain their own answers.
(In order to train their teamwork, I often encourage the other group members to add more information when necessary.)
Step Four Group Discussion
I will rearrange the students into three different groups , which is helpful for them to get fresh ideas about the topic, and then they need discuss with their new groups about their most interested growing pain. The reasons should be explained.
Step Five Pre-writing Outline
Since we have learnt how to write a five-paragraph report, I need students to organize their ideas by the outline.
I will invite a group to share their outline with us on the whiteboard. One student writes it and the other explains it.
After they finish the outline, I will make some judgments on it and give them some instructions for writing the report.
Step Five Homework
Homework for them today:
Please finish and edit your outline.
Please finish the report.
Step Six Reflection
At the end of my each class, I will make my students reflect on what they have learnt and what they cannot understand in this period. They need write down their reflection on the posters and stick them onto the whiteboard. I will check all the posters and make a reflection after my class.
