T: What are you doing ? T: I’m reading a newspaper.
use/using the computer
T: What are you doing ? Ss: I’m using the computer.
make /making soup
T: What are you doing ? Ss: I’m making soup.
exercise /exercising
T:What are doing ? Ss: I am exercising.
talk /talking on the phone
T: What are you doing ? Ss: I’m talking on the phone.
wash /washing the dishes
T: What are you doing ? Ss: I am washing the dishes.
Ss read in different ways to practice the sentences pattern
Step 3 Match work
Show a picture with apartment to the Ss.
T: There are many people in the Happy Apartment.
What are they doing ? Please turn to you page 31 and find out in 1a.Ss match the activities with the pictures.
Check the answer with the Ss.
Ss underline the basic form of each word.
Let’s play a game.There are many phrase cards in the teacher’s hand . When the teacher takes out one card, Ss should stand up quickly to read the phrases they know loudly. ( listening to a CD--I’m listening to a CD.) The teacher will give the fastest group one smile.
Ask students some questions by using the phrases in 1a to practice pattern.
