Step1. Lead-in
Ask students with following questions
T: Where does this athlete come from?
S: Africa
T: Besides athletes, what do you usually think of Africa?
S: black people, wild animals, weather is hot and dry.
T: Now let’s enjoy more pictures about Africa.
Would you like to go to Africa for a trip?
S: Yes, we’d like to .
T: So today we’ll follow Colin and Toby to take an adventure in Africa. Here “adventure” is not an ordinary trip, so it is extraordinary. Could you use some adjectives to describe “adventure”?
S: exciting, amazing, scaring, interesting, dangerous.
T: Could you think of some adventure activities?
S: rock climbing, mountain climbing, driving, bungee.
T: so “adventure” is Adventure is an unusual, exciting or dangerous experience, journey or series of events.

step 3. Fast-reading
Now please open your book and turn to page 22. Please read this passage as quickly as you can, Then try to draw Toby’s travelling route in Africa on your paper.
