Guide basisAs it puts in the Curriculum Standards, “Language is the most important tool of thinking and communication”. In this lesson, I will focus on the core qualities of the English subject, namely, language competence, cultural character, thinking quality and learning ability to carry out teaching.
Besides, I will carry out my English teaching mode, three procedures combined with four steps. The three procedures :self-study before class→ explore and discuss in class → extend and consolidate after class. Four steps are used throughout the class, that is, thinking by oneself→ discussion and display→ guidance and activities→ consolidation and feedback.Analysis

Learners The reading is about travel and adventure , so students will be interested in the topic and have a lot to say. Senior high students are eager to learn something knowledgeable and interesting. They're not content with the limited knowledge obtained from the textbooks. However, Ss may find it difficult to pronounce some words of places.Analysis

Material
Teaching Content The content of my lesson is a reading material, which plays an important role in this unit. The unit mainly talks about travel. It is an informal letter written by Toby about his travel plan with his brother. A general introduction about their routes in Africa and adventure activities are presented. Equipped with background information about Africa, Ss are expected not only to grasp the main idea of the letter but also to identify the features of an informal letter. Teaching AimsKnowledge
1.The Ss can describe Toby’s travel plan in Africa confidently
2. The Ss can read and paraphrase some new words and phrases, such as extraordinary, brilliant, rough, in advance, etc.Abilities
