五.教材分析
The topic of this unit is adventure and travel. To improve students’ skills and ability, they need to:
Read an informer letter about an adventure and a travel leaflet about Shangri-la; listen for specific dates and place names; discuss a travel plan by asking and answering questions; write an e-mail about a family holiday; expand vocabulary about adventure and travel. Through this activities, students will learn more about different cultures:Grasslands of Africa, Brazilian rainforest, the River Nile, Shangri-la and the history, geography or customs of Zhangjiajie, Jinan, Mt Tai……
As for this topic, we can find lots of great information on the Internet. Students can collect anything they want, so it’s easy for them to search information. I think the more important part in this lesson is to help them understand the procedure of a leaflet and how to sort out useful information to complete a travel leaflet. To fulfill this task, students are required to cooperate with each other. Some of them do the writing, others do the drawing, still others correct mistakes and add new ideas. Finally, the group members together present the travel leaflet they carefully produced to the whole class.
