教学背景分析
教材分析:
The teaching material was adopted from Advance with English, published by Yilin Press, Module 3 Unit 1 Welcome to the unit. The topic of this unit is The World of Our Senses. People have five senses: sight, hearing, taste, smell and touch. In the Welcome to the unit section, there is a short paragraph introducing five senses basically about how they function and affect one another in people’s life and there are some interesting pictures to show that senses can confuse people. There are also some words and expressions like “raised dots” “sign language” “confuse” to describe something related to senses.
Though the focus will be this section, the Reading and Listening section in the Workbook will be added to enlarge resources so as to help students understand senses. In the Reading part, passage A is about the famous musician Beethoven and passage B tells a boy called Ben who is blind but has a strong sense of taste. These two persons all have made great achievements to some degree which could teach students the importance of senses in people’s life and even if some people have lost the ability to use one of them, they could still make use of the other to work wonder and realize their dream.
学情分析:
Students of this lesson are from Senior High One and this is their second term after entering the school. They have accumulated some words and expressions to voice their ideas and organize something to say. They have also learned the reading strategies to comprehend the passage. In addition, they are curious about the new things and they are interested in exploring the unknown.

By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
Express ideas about senses with related words and expressions;
Recognize the importance of five senses in people’s life, how they influence it and have a positive attitude towards life.
