模块三 Module III Broardening horizons《Reading(1):Fog》教案优质课下载

StepⅠ.Warming up

First, show students a list of pictures and appreciate a piece of warm music. This will lead students to get the topic of this period quickly. Then, ask them some questions to reinforce the topic and lead to the reading passage naturally.

What kind of people usually need to be helped?

Will you help them if you can?

As normal people, do we need help sometimes?

4. What’s your feeling of being helped and helping others?

StepⅡ.Fast reading

First, ask students to focus on the title of this story and lead students to have a brainstorming about the word “fog”. This will help students to infer what will be talked about in the passage.

Then, give students 3 minutes to read the passage fast to get the basic elements of this story, which is the reading strategy in this passage.

Step Ⅲ. Detailed reading

Divide the class into several groups and 6 members are included in a group. give them different worksheets according to their English levels. Two questions are listed on each worksheet with different points according to their difficulty level.

Give them 3 minutes to do the exercise and discuss with their partners.

Invite the volunteers to answer the questions and give their group the right points.

In this part, everyone will participate in class actively and these questions on the worksheet will help them to understand the passage better.

Step Ⅳ Consolidation

After reading in parts, ask students to read the whole story again and try to figure out the correct route that Polly took home.
