Step one Pre-reading
Task one warm up
1. get the students to talk about travelling after making a self introduction
Task two reviewing and lead in
1. review what the students have learned about civilization by picture talking around the following topic:
“Which of them may be your dreamed place of visit and what may you do there?”
2. preview the new word in the reading part by talking about the reasons for the lost civilizations in some of the pictures.
Step two While –Reading
Task one read for basic information
divide the class into two groups and invite them to participate in a reading competition by searching for the following information:
1. What were Lou lan and Pompeii like in the past?
2. What do Loulan and Pompeii seem to be now?
3. What are the reasons for their changes?
