Teaching aims:

Help students to grasp the object complement;
To learn some important verbs and its object complement in the grammar;
To apply what they have learnt to practice by fulfilling some exercises;
Develop the students’ ability of using the grammar rules to make correct sentences.

Step 1 Lead in
Ask questions and introduce the topic.
--- Did you find anything special when you came to the classroom?
--- No, I didn’t.
--- You found the flowers on the desk, didn’t you?
---Yes, and I found them beautiful.

Step 2 Learn and understand
1.Make sure students know the definition and basic grammatical rules of object complement.
2.Set a scene: The Emperor And His New Clothes
(1):含使动意义的动词, 所接的宾补多为动词原形或过去分词、现在分词,如 get, have, make 等。
He had wardrobe(衣柜) full of clothes .
The Emperor got his clothes changed every a few hours every day.
The two cheaters had the lights burning all night long
(2)v + sb. + to do sth. 结构中的动词, 所接的宾补一般是不定式。如advise, allow, ask, beg, cause, expect, force, get, help, inspire, invite, order, permit, persuade, request, require, tell, teach, train, urge, want, warn, wish等
The Emperor expected the two “tailors” to invent a new cloth.
The Emperor ordered the parade to begin after he was dressed in his new clothes
(3)感官动词, 所接的宾补可以是v-ing形式,也可以是动词原形。 feel, hear, listen to, notice, observe, see, watch, look at
