Step I Lead-in: some quotations from Socrates

2. To let more people learn more about Socrates, one of the best ways is to make some posters and put them up.
Step II Brief introduction to the basic elements of a poster
1. A sample: title, text and picture are the three elements.
2. Brainstorming: what information should be used in the poster?
Step III Review and gather information
Review the article ‘The Father of Western Philosophy’.
Exercise: Q&A (for some key information) and Chart-filling (for other important details).
Step IV Group work: make a poster about Socrates
1. Teacher clarifies each team member’s job and show students the scoring criteria first.
2. Some useful expressions are given to help students finish the text on the poster.
3. Enough time should be allowed to let students co-work.
