Process and procedures:

First ,to lead into the topic, and then a free talk. Next,ask the students to talk about the four posters, and put them in two groups, encouraging them to tell the difference between them . Finally , ask the students to discuss the last three questions to improve their speaking abilities.

Feeling and values:

1.To discuss and get some ideas of the two main types of ads and their respected purposes.

2. To get involved in the discussion and practice the students” spoken English.

Teaching Keys & Teaching Difficulties:

1.How to help students understand the different types of ads, and the role of ads.

2. How to improve the students” speaking abilities.

Teaching aids: the multi-media the blackboard

Teaching Procedure:

Step One: Leading in

T: (Greeting the class as usual) Ask the students to look and guess:

“What product is it for?” (show the pictures on the screen)

Then show several videos on the screen ,and ask the students to look at the advertisements. Answer the question:

Who are they aimed at?

Step Two: Free talking

Question one: What’s advertising?

Ss :Advertising is a form of communication that typically attempts to persuade potential customers to purchase or to consume more of a particular brand of product or service.

Question two: Where can we find these ads?

Ss; On billboards, on the Internet, in newspapers / magazines, on TV, in leaflets, in buses, etc.

Step Three: Types of advertisements

Commercial advertisements

To promote a product or service.
