Teaching Procedure:
Step one: Lead-in
T: First, let’s appreciate some beautiful pictures. (Show some pictures of ads ) What do these pictures have in common?
S: They are all ads.
T:Yes, they are all advertisements. Where are ads most commonly found in our daily life? (show the picture of newspapers, magazines billboards, TV, the Internet, radio---)
S:on TV, on the radio, on the Internet ---
Step Two: Distinguishing CAs from PSAs
T:Open your books at page 1. Look at the four posters and try to answer these questions:
What can you see on each poster?
What can you read on each poster?
What does each advertisement want to tell us?
T:(divide students into four groups) Each group discuss one picture.
S (discuss in pairs)---
T:Observe the four pictures again. We can divide them into different types.

Step Three: Further discussion
T: (discuss in pairs)Do you believe that all the ads tell us the complete truth? Why or why not?
