Ⅲ Teaching Procedure:

Step One: Leading-in

T: Enjoy a short video. Then ask questions related to it:

Do you like it? Why?

What product is advertised?

What does it want to tell us?

Ss: … (Encourage them to express themselves. This step is just to arouse their interest and introduce the topic.鼓励学生积极表达自己,从而激发学习兴趣,引出本课话题)

Step Two: Picture talking

T: Well, if you want to enjoy more advertisements, you can see them in your book on page 1. Let us get to know what is described in each of them. Now, I would like to divide you into four groups and each group is required to describe one picture, and here are some questions to help you. Your description could be based on these questions.

What can you see in the picture?

What can you read on it?

What does it try to tell us?

(Show the pictures and ask students to understand the pictures by answering the given questions. T can help the students to conduct the activity and encourage them to work together to complete the task. 展示图片,将学生分组分配任务通过回答问题的形式理解图片意思, 教师鼓励小组合作,同时个别辅导促进任务的完成。)

Step Three: Consolidation

T: Well done! Now you can see that advertisements are a good way to sell products or services. They are also a good way to make people aware of the needs of others and the dangers around them. Next please look at the table below and then go through the four pictures again. Later on put each of them in the correct group.
