Teaching Procedure:
Step 1 Leading-in
Greet the students as usual ,and then enjoy two ads and let students discuss the following questions with their partners :
1. Where do you often see ads ? 2. Do you like advertisements?
3. Why do we need ads ? 4. Why do businessmen like ads?
5. How do ads persuade us to buy products or to believe an idea?
After that ,asking the volunteer group leaders to the front and show their results.
Step 2 Fast-reading
Go through the questions in part A first and then read the text silently to find the answers to the three questions:
What do ads try to persuade people to do?
What does PSA stand for? 3)What do PSAs aim to do?
(Remind students to use skimming and scanning skills to focus on and identify the information needed to answer these questions. Let them pay attention to the three subtitles in the passage which can help them find the information they want. )

Step 3 Detailed-reading
