Step I: Lead-in
T: Good morning, everyone. Welcome to our English class. Today we’ll discuss a new topic, what is it? OK, later I’ll tell you the answer. First let’s look at some pictures.
Show the Ss the four posters one by one and discuss each with the Ss.
Picture 1 a poster of shampoo
Picture 2 a poster of a skin care product
Picture 3 a poster of the danger of drunk driving
Picture 4 a poster of protecting the earth
T: From the four posters, can you guess what we are going to talk about today? --Yeah, advertisements. Nowadays ads are so common that wherever we go ,we may find them. So ads have become a necessary part in our daily life. Some ads are used to sell products or service, while others are meant to make people realize the dangers around them or think over some social problems. So there are different types of ads. Now next we’ll read an article on Page 2 ,which help us know more about ads.
