Teaching steps:

Step1:Introduce interest

Show three pictures about 2b and ask students what he looks like.

Many students stand up and want to answer ,in the end , let three students come to the hht multimedia and describe their appearance one by one.

（Design purpose: Stimulate the students’ interest ）

Step2:Show the title and learning aims

Students read together.

（Design purpose：Clear will learn this lesson content and learning aims）

Step3：Fast reading

Teacher says :“Joe Brown is my good friend，he let me guess the picture of the criminal，but I can’t guess. Can you help me？”Sure.

Now please read the newspaper article fast . Which picture shows the real criminal？

Many students say the answer and I let one student say the reason ，then he draws lines on hht multimedia.

（Design purpose：Through fast reading, clear the gist.）

Step4:Careful reading

Teacher says :“I’m a teacher. Do you know what Joe Brown’s job is?”

Please read 2b carefully and answer the questions.

Unlimited number，four students run fast to the blackboard and write the answers on it.Other students finish them by themselves.

Teacher walks around the classroom and check the answers.

Students have finished and the teacher will say：“Who will speak about these five questions？Please stand up.”Han Yanming comes to the platform to say the answers and the reasons，then he draws lines on hht multimedia.

（Design purpose：By reading 2b carefully ,finishing the questions and one student explains the reasons, make students have a deeper understanding of the article.）

Step5:Skimming and scanning

Teacher says:“I love my students. Because they are very smart.

I love my job very much. Because it’s very interesting.”

they refers to students，it refers to job；
