II. The analysis of the teaching material and students
The project in this unit is designed to help students learn and use English by doing a project. This lesson is the second period of the project. Some pictures will be presented to help students distinguish the differences between commercial ads and public service ads.
In the course of doing the project, students should consider three things: 1) the target audience of the ad campaign, 2) the message they want to send, and 3) how they plan on reaching their target audience. Students are expected to know how to cooperate and do the project together.

At the end of this lesson, students are expected to:
1. talk about the differences between these two types of advertisements: commercial advertisements and public service advertisements;
2. describe the product or service in the advertisement prepared through pictures, PPT, short videos, plays, and etc. they’ve prepared in advance;
3. communicate independently in groups.
VI. Teaching Procedure (Willis, 1996)
Stage 1: Pre-task
Step 1: Show students 4 pictures of advertisements taken from the textbook and ask them to identify the two main types of advertisements: the commercial advertisements (CAs) and the public service advertisements (PSAs).
T: According to what we’ve learned, please identify which one is the commercial advertisement) and which one is the public service advertisements.
Stage 2: Task Cycle
Step 1: Present more advertisements to students and encourage them to describe the characteristics of the advertisement. Examples can be given by the teacher.
T: Can you conclude the characteristics of the advertisements in your own words? For example, an an ad can be attractive because it may contain colorful pictures or clever words.
