Teaching procedure

Step 1 Leading in

Show a picture of the teacher and her best friend. Introduce the friend’s appearance, then ask the students who their best friends are. Ask them to introduce their friend’s appearance.

Step 2 Reading

1.3a Fill in the blanks with the words in the box.

Read the passage and divide it into 3 parts.

Read the passage together aloud and try to memorize the useful expressions.

Step 3 Writing

Before writing:

Group work: Classify the words we learned in this unit into 4 categories (height, build, hair, face) and elect a reporter in your group to present your work.

2.Pair work: Look and say. Look at the screen and use the expressions to describe your friend’s appearance to your partner.
