Analysis of the students:
Tomorrow’world is a topic which can arouse students’curiosity,so objectively they can be interested in the activities in class. However, anxiety in public speaking and a lack of self-confidence make a large number of students tend to be quiet.
Teaching objectives:
Language: To make students know and discuss what people could do in the future and imagine what tomorrow’s world would be like.
Ability: to strengthen students’ ability of speaking English.
Emotion: To make students hopeful about tomorrow and determined to create tomorrow of their own.

Step 1 Lead-in
1. Show students a poster which promotes HanZhou tourism and ask them to think about:
What scenic spots and tales do they know in HanZhou?
What transportation tools today can they choose to go to HanZhou?
2. Ask students to think about what transportation tools they could use to go to HanZhou a hundred years ago.
3.After discussion in pairs and groups, the evolution of transportation tools is known and an important conclusion is drawn:
Step 2 Discussion
Ask students to describe the four pictures one by one in the textbook and some questions are given to check their understanding of the pictures.
