Teaching process:
Step 1 Lead-in
The teacher will show students two pictures to make them focus on the lesson. The teacher will first ask students to complete the following sentences according to the pictures.
This is a real world seen through our eyes.
This is a virtual world seen through our eyes.
Then, the teacher will encourage the students to discuss the following questions.
Do you want to experience a virtual world? Why?
Through the above discussion, the teacher helps associate students’ background knowledge with this lesson. In order to make full preparations for reading, the teacher asks the students to predict what will be discussed in this article based on the above discussion and the title of this article.
Step 2 Reading
The teacher helps the students to analyse and understand this business presentation titled “Not just watching a film...”.
