教学目标In this lesson, students will be able to explore the features of a business presentation. Through skimming and silent reading, they will learn about the text structure and language styles with the help of mind maps. Through focusing on the text and analyzing the text, they will appreciate the text and have a further understanding of the features of a business presentation by deep reading. That is about reading the lines, reading between the lines, reading beyond the lines and reading beyond the passage. They will exercise their critical thinking through group work and creatively practice imitative writing by using special writing styles.

教学策略Use mind maps to help students explore the features of a business presentation.

Make full use of the multi-media to improve teaching efficiency by presenting pictures, charts, videos, various tasks and teaching materials to arouse the students’ interest in this class and make the students participate in class activities actively and creatively.

Adopt Task-based Approach to cultivate the students’ abilities of independent learning, cooperative learning and exploratory learning as well as the practical application of English through completing all kinds of tasks .

Step 1 Lead in (Free talk)

Question: Before you experience VR, what should be prepared?

Step 2 Reading Strategy

Students are asked to read Reading Strategy from the textbook. A mind map will be shown to help them further understand the features of a business presentation. The last four blanks function as a hook setting, which may arouse their curiosity. They will get the answers at the end of this class.

Step 3 Skimming

Read the passage silently and find the right mind map for its structure.

Step 4 Deep reading
