Step 1 Revision and Lead-in
Before class, I gave students some handouts and asked them to draw some rules from the given sentences. At the beginning of the class, check students’ handouts. Help them get a general understanding of the passive voice.
Step 2 Brainstorming
Show some pictures and sentences to help students to learn about the passive voice and also introduce the verb, the subject and the object in the sentences.
Step 3 Practice
1.Show students some pictures. They fill in the blanks using the passive voice according to the pictures.
The man is called “ Good husband”.
The pet dog is being treated now by nurse.
A frog was caught by a big bird just now.
2. Fill in the blanks to consolidate what they have learnt.
1) I ___________ (give) a new book by my father on my birthday.
2) English ___________ (find) very useful.
3) The work ______________(finish) tomorrow.
4) The flowers __________(water) by them now.
5) The railway ________________ (build) this time last year.
