Jules Verne[?ju:l‵ve?n ] 儒勒、凡尔纳
Jules Verne (February 8, 1828 —March 24, 1905) was a French author and is regarded as the father of science fiction. Verne was noted for writing about space, air, and underwater travel long before they were possible.
Herbert George Wells (September 21, 1866 - August 13, 1946) was an English writer best known for his science fiction novels such as The War of the Worlds and The Time Machine.
Science fiction is a type of writing based on fantasy[‘f?nt?si](幻想;梦想). Science fiction writers often write about what will happen in ‘tomorrow's world’.
Read the first story written by Jules Verne. Then answer the following questions.
